3,500 Local Hospital Workers Vote to Strike

About 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to strike.  After two days of voting, 91 percent supported the strike option.

If the union calls a 2-5 day strike it would affect:

-Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina
-Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis

Two District 197 teachers have been honored with an Outstanding Collaborating Teachers Award.

Becca Boelk and Stacy Dreelan are both Speech-Language Pathologists at Moreland Arts and Health Sciences Magnet School. They were named 2011-2012 Outstanding Collaborating Teachers by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Communicative Disorders Department.
